Some poor bastards near me been having work done on their ga...

..and the back of the house caved in today.
As well as taking out the joists as can be seen theyre also apparently been digging out the basement.
will the builders insurers cover this, or is this such a schoolboy that theyre not going to be covered regardless?

there are loads of new builds going up where I am, no more hospitals, schools, shops community centres, old bill, just houses, thousands and thousands.
Talking to some of the more 'seasoned' builders recently, they said that 'the houses are shit, I pity any poor fucker that lives in them'.

The joists left in the roof are bowing like bandy. Obviously that side of the street is a hazard and surely not even the silliest of tickets around here will leave their car next to that with the remainder of the backside die to face in imminently.

I'd love to know who the builders are. I've been dealing with some awful builders lately. Basements especially. They all think they can dig it out without any support.
However most of the time the fundamental flaw is the owners selected a builder who was alot cheaper than the rest.
If the building has collapsed then it is probably reportable to the HSE as a near miss.
If the building is still live and a possible danger from further collapse then it needs to be reported as a dangerous structure to the council building control.
